After 8 days in the hospital, I finally got to come home on Thursday. I wanted to call everyone and let them know but I still get out of breath so I figured this would be faster! I know some people didn't even know I was in the hospital but everything happened so fast that we were just taking it one day at a time since we didn't know when I would be going home.
For those of you who didn't know, I started getting sick on Saturday, Nov 4 just feeling crappy and sore. I wasn't getting better and was getting dehydrated so I went to the doctor on Wednesday at which point I was admitted to the hospital (St. Joe East). Throughout all of this, the baby has been doing fine. Hearing her heartbeat in the hospital brought a smile to my face even when I was feeling miserable. She did amazing throughout all of this and for this we are very grateful. I'm was only 31 weeks along when they admitted me so we were not ready for her to arrive and it appears that she will be staying put for at least several more weeks! They did another ultrasound while I was there and she is doing just fine.
It turned out that I had a bad case of double pneumonia and it just took me a little longer to recover due to the pregnancy. A week of IV fluids, antibiotics, and rest have done wonders. I'm still on antibiotics and worn out but doing much better. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and concerns while I was in the hospital and am glad to be home. Other than having the girls, I hadn't been in the hospital since I was 9 and I've never been as sick as I was. The nurses and doctors were excellent and several followed up on me after I was no longer their patient because they moved me from labor & delivery to the antepartum floor or doctors who were no longer on call but who had seen me when I was admitted.
Our parents and my brother & sister-in-law were amazing (and still are) with helping out with the girls and trying to keep them in their routines even while our lives were pretty chaotic. I cannot thank all of them enough for all of their help. Most of all, I cannot thank Michael enough for everything he did and the nights he slept on the hospital couch so he could be there when I needed him. Throughout all of this, he kept our lives going and did everything he could and more for both me and the girls.

Glad to hear your home and that baby is doing fine. Can't wait till you get back I have pics for you. Both of my best friends had their babies this week. Both are doing fine. Ian Edward Blazer was 12 weeks early but he is stable and progressing. Taylor Rene Finnigin was 6 weeks early and should be out of the NICU within the week. Take care and get to feeling better.
Allison,
Stacy told me that you were in the hospital. I am glad that you are home now. I thought about stopping by to see you, but I figured you needed the rest more. I have been thinking of you a lot lately! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving Holiday! Hope to see you soon!
Lots of love!
Andrea
